🎃 Why Do We Celebrate Halloween?
The origins of Halloween go back over 2,000 years to the Celtic festival of Samhain, celebrated across Ireland, Scotland, and parts of northern Europe. Samhain marked the end of harvest and the beginning of winter, when it was believed the veil between the living and spirit worlds was at its thinnest. Bonfires, costumes, and offerings were used to protect against wandering spirits.
From Samhain to Halloween

In Britain, pumpkins didn’t appear until much later; our ancestors carved turnip lanterns instead. Games like apple-bobbing and telling ghost stories by candlelight became part of the seasonal fun, long before Halloween crossed the Atlantic and returned with an American twist.
